Gathering around 500 directors, with 1,750 registered works, which represents the most consistent artistic and cultural GDP in Brazil, DBCA (Directors Brazil), a pioneer society in the defense of Authors’ Rights in the country, and the recent 53° Brazilian Film Festival in Brasilia (held between December 15th and 20th), historical moral and political trench of our cinema, reinforced in this edition, now closed, their mutual and live solidarity through the exchange of experiences on Collective Management Organizations (CMOs).

The Federation of Societies of Latin American Audiovisual Authors– FESAAL, held their Annual Congress on October 2nd and 3rd at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in the city of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, gathering the Authors representing the member societies, together with their technicians, in two working days, where the main focus of the meeting was the defence of authors ´rights in the region.
After the signature of a memorandum of cooperation, collaboration and understanding, the DGK– Directors Guild of Korea – joins the Federation of Societies of Latin American Audiovisual Authors as an adjoin association.
The first week of September, DAC – Directors Argentina – received DGK – Directors Guild of Korea – representatives in its offices : Hyun-jin PARK – Author, Vice President and DGK Board Member, Chanik LIM – Author , Director and Hae-ryung HA – Senior Manager, who especially traveled to Argentina in order to do a timely training in the management of a CMO
Reunited in Tokyo, and within the frame of their Executive Council annual meeting, W&DW promotes the rights of Authors, Directors and Screenwriters through the constitution of a new Asia – Pacific Alliance, adding on to the already created and successful ADAL for Latin America, and APASER for Africa.
Training sessions took place, with the presence of all member management societies of FESAAL. Latin America keeps moving forward for the defence of Authors´rights for their Audiovisual Authors, on their territory and all over the world.
With a historic attendance from Authors, authorities of collective management societies, Federations and Alliances from around the world, the Writers and Directors Worldwide (W&DW) Annual Congress took place in the city of Moscow, Russian Federation.
With the birth of FESAAL – Latin American Audiovisual Authors´ Federation – authors´ right is strengthened throughout the region.
The Annual Congress of Latin American Audiovisual Authors was held on December 12th, 13th and 14th in the city of Havana, Cuba, within the frame of the renowned International Festival of New Cinema of Havana, in its 40th edition.
