WIPO (Worldwide Organization for Intellectual Property) and FESAAL (Latin American Audiovisual Authors Societies Federation), in collaboration with DNDA (National Direction of Authors´ Rights) of Columbia, together with the CMOs REDES (Screenwriters of Colombia), and DASC ( Directors of Colombia), held an on-line debate about action taken to defend the rights of audiovisual authors in Colombia.

The new law for audiovisual authors was sanctioned in Uruguay
With the approval of Law Nr. 19.858 this past December by the Uruguayan parliament, AGADU – General Association of Uruguayan Authors begins collecting the rights of audiovisual authors as the only management society existing in their territory.

The first poll in history regarding the current economical and social situation of European Audiovisual authors was carried out
The poll was done by BVR Services GmbH of CuDOS and Ghent University, commissioned by FERA – European Federation of Cinema Directors and FSE – Federation of European Scriptwriters. The poll revealed data about remuneration and work life of European Audiovisual Authors.
Latin America: Audiovisual Authors Live a Historic Moment
With the birth of FESAAL – Latin American Audiovisual Authors´ Federation – authors´ right is strengthened throughout the region.
The Executive Council of the International Congress of Creators – W&DW – Writers and Directors Worldwide met in Paris.
On March 12th, a new meeting of the Executive Committee of W&DW was held in the city of Paris, France, with a view to organize the next Annual Congress to be held in the city of Algiers.
